Amy comes to PIRE from the Healing Communities Study at the University of Kentucky. She has a breadth of experience in education, nonprofit administration and leadership, community engagement, and grant administration. Amy enjoys working to create collaborative teams and building relationships with stakeholders and constituents. She looks forward to returning to her Eastern Kentucky roots as part of the AppalTRuST Study.

Nathan resides in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. He has recently completed work on the University of Kentucky’s HEALing Communities Study, a 4-year project with the National Institutes of Health (NIH). Prior to working in the research field, Nathan worked providing resources to individuals with substance use disorders and people experiencing homelessness.

Renée has over 25 years of experience in community engagement and outreach, most recently with the University of Kentucky’s HEALing Communities Study. She has led strategic planning, served as administrator for federal and state grants, and values collaboration to build strong, effective teams.

Justin Stafford

Justin resides in Ashland, Kentucky. He has most recently worked as Field Supervisor for all ongoing Census operations in Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia; previously he served as Census Field Manager for all Group Quarters operations in Southern Ohio. Prior to his time with the Census Bureau, he served as a Research Assistant for the Stanford Research Institute on the Tools for Getting Along longitudinal behavioral study.

Candi is an Eastern Kentucky native and life-long resident of Greenup County, Kentucky. She works in Social Work with an emphasis in Addiction and Recovery. Her most recent position was with the University of Kentucky’s HEALing Communities Study. Her goal is to bring resources and awareness to Eastern Kentucky.
